The High Lands. Past, Present and Future

Conference organised by Grantown Museum

Using the works displayed in the Landseer exhibition at Grantown Museum (13 May - 20 September), this conference will explore the deeper themes touched on in the exhibition. The conference aims to open a conversation around the past and present changes in land use of the Cairngorms landscape and the influence this has had on the economy, social structure and environment of the Highlands today. ​

18 August: 3 speakers giving a unique historical context and a discussion panel on the future of land use in the Cairngorms. The day will include lunch & a tour of the exhibition at the museum. The Grant Arms Hotel, Grantown    9.30am - 4 pm Tickets £15  

19 August:Exploratory walk to Ruigh Fionntag, Glen Feshie with the exhibition curators. Transport provided (bring pack lunch and appropriate attire).Meet at Grantown Museum  9.30am - 4 pm Tickets £10
